Mississippi Man Killed in Grand Prairie Hit-And-Run: Police

A Mississippi man has died after police say he was struck by a vehicle while walking near Texas state Highway 360 in Grand Prairie early Sunday.

Another driver called police after seeing the man's body at about 6 a.m. on the side of the southbound Texas 360 Frontage Road, also known in that area as Watson Road, just north of Brown Boulevard and Avenue K.

Police said the pedestrian, later identified as 23-year-old Dennis Lamb, of Southaven, Mississippi had been lying there for almost an hour before he was found.

Medics rushed Lamb to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2 p.m. Sunday.

It is the sixth traffic death this year in Grand Prairie, police said.

Investigators are working to gather information, including a description of the vehicle that struck Lamb.
