MedStar Concerned by Number of Motorcycle Crashes

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month and it falls at a time when first responders are seeing an alarming number of crashes in North Texas.

MedStar representatives are concerned with the frequency of motorcycle crashes so far this year.

Medstar has also launched a “Rider Alert” program and are making Rider Alert safety cards available for riders.

“The card is placed inside a rider’s helmets and contains vital, life-saving information, emergency contact and any important medical history," MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said. "When first responders arrive on the scene of a motorcycle accident, a one-inch, sticker on the outside of the helmet will indicate that the biker has the Rider Alert Card. The sticker also warns untrained responders not to remove the helmet, which could prevent further injury."

You can find the cards at MedStar’s headquarters at 2900 Alta Mere Drive in Fort Worth or motorcycle dealerships throughout Fort Worth.
