Police said a man was struck by an 18-wheeler when he tried to cross a highway in Alvarado overnight.
Investigators said a man on a bicycle was crossing U.S. 67 near Village Park Drive at about midnight Wednesday when he was struck by a passing 18 wheeler.
The man on the bicycle was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital by medical helicopter. His condition has not yet been released.
The driver of the 18-wheeler did not stop, but police said they're not sure if the driver even knew the crash occurred.
