Man Held in Domestic Fight, Shooting in Grapevine

A California man is facing charges after Grapevine police say he assaulted his girlfriend and shot a man who tried to intervene.

Grapevine police said 36-year-old Arron William Lephart got into a fight with his 32-year-old girlfriend at the Camden River Walk Apartments on the 3900 block of Grapevine Mills Parkway.

Investigators said Lephart then shot a 42-year-old bystander who intervened in the fight.

The unnamed shooting victim was transported by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.  The woman was transported to Baylor Grapevine Hospital.

Police said Wednesday morning that neither of the victim's injuries appear to be life threatening.

Lephart, who police said left the scene after the shooting, was arrested a short time later by Highland Village police.

Lephart has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $100,000 bond.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, Grapevine police said.
