Man Dragged Trying to Stop Another from Taking His Car

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office released three surveillance videos Monday they say shows a man being dragged while trying to stop someone from stealing his car in broad daylight.

In the video, the owner of the car can be seen parking near a group of mail boxes at the Pecan Lake Mobile Home Park on the 2800 block of South Belt Line Road.

As the man walked toward the bank of mailboxes, another man can be seen in the area walking toward the older man's car.

When the man noticed the other getting into his vehicle, he ran toward the vehicle and tried to stop the theft. As the thief pulled out of the parking space and drove away, the owner of the car was dragged a short distance before falling into the roadway.

While his condition is not known, the man did not appear to be seriously injured.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying the man in the video who took the car. Those with information about the man's identity are asked to call the sheriff's department at 972-203-0312.
