Man Hit by School Bus Critically Injured

Man fights for life at area hospital after collision

Editor's Note: In an email just after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Fort Worth Police told NBC 5 the man hit by a bus had died. In a followup phone call to NBC 5, police reported the 64-year-old was in critical condition after suffering severe injuries.

A 64-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a school bus in Fort Worth Wednesday morning.

According to the Fort Worth police, the bus was turning southbound on the Interstate 35 service road from the 1300-block of East Lancaster at about 9:50 a.m.

As the bus entered the intersection, the man walked into the roadway and was hit by the bus.

The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, suffered a traumatic blow to the head and was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.

There were no children on the bus at the time of the collision.

The bus driver is not expected to face any charges.
