Man Dies After Being Found in Golf Course Pond

Plano Fire-Rescue crews were called to the Watters Creek Golf Course early Sunday morning for a drowning.

According to the fire department, homeowners near the course reported hearing a man, who was in one of the course's ponds, yelling for help.

When members of the fire department arrived shortly after 1 a.m. Plano police officers were already on scene performing CPR on the man who had been pulled from the water.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

In a news release, Capt. Peggy Harrell with the Plano Fire Department, said the homeowner who called for help also said there was another individual with the victim before the person who died went under the water.

Fire personnel, along with the Wylie Fire Department's water and dive rescue team, searched for a second victim but no one else was found.
