Police Search for Man Who Stole Thousands From Irving Mall

Irving police are searching for a man who camped out inside a Macy's department store at Irving Mall and stole thousands of dollars in merchandise.

The Irving Police Department said the man entered the store before closing and found a place to hide.

The man, seen on surveillance video, stole purses and wallets worth thousands of dollars.

Security cameras captured a man dressed in a dark blazer looking down at his phone as he walked into the store minutes before closing.

On another camera, he was seen checking out the doors of the store.

Police said once all the employees left and the store closed, the man started cutting the tags off the purses and wallets, which set off the alarm.

He was later seen running out of the store with purses and wallets.
