Irving police are searching for two men who robbed a gas station owner and stole his minivan on Thursday.

It happened at about 1 p.m. in the 7900 block of Esters Boulevard.

In the video, the victim had just parked his vehicle, a red 2014 Dodge Caravan with Texas license plate number CXP-1678, when he was approached by two unknown men.

The men assaulted the victim by knocking him to the ground and then stole his van.

One of the men drove away in the victim’s van, while the other fled in a late-model dark gray or black Chevrolet Impala.

The victim suffered a serious head injury and was transported to Las Colinas Medical Center.

At the time of the offense, a deputy with the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office witnessed the men in the parking lot and attempted to intervene. The men were able to get away from the deputy after a short chase.

One of the men is described as black, between 18 to 22 years of age and approximately 6 feet tall. He has unshaven facial hair, short dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and gym shorts.

The other man is described as black, between 18 to 22 years of age and approximately 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information about this offense, or if they see the victim’s van, should contact the Irving Police Department at 972-273-1010 and reference case number 14-13979 or call 911.
