Suspicious Bottles Rendered Safe by Police in Fort Worth Neighborhood

Fire officials recovered and rendered safe several suspicious bottles in Fort Worth early Saturday morning.

Police were originally called to the 5900 block of Shadydell Drive at around 4 a.m. when several suspicious bottles with blue liquid (an acidic drain cleaner) and tightly rolled foil inside were found along the street in front of residential yards.

A police officer photographed the bottles and officials determined the best way to render the pressurized bottles safe was to shoot them with a pellet gun.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage. Investigators are searching for any details or leads in this incident.

Editor's Note: Initial reports that the bottles were detonated were not accurate. We regret the error.
