Grandfather Held For Intoxication Manslaughter After 5-Year-Old's Death

A grandfather is being held in the Dallas County Jail following a motor vehicle crash that killed his five-year-old grandson.

Jail officials said 52-year-old Tony Dickerson was involved in a motor vehicle crash around 9 p.m. at Beltline and Simonds in Seagoville.

Police said Dickerson crashed his pick-up truck while driving with his grandson.

Dickerson's five-year-old grandson, Josiah Andres Dickerson, was transported to Children's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead Sunday night.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner confirmed the child had died, but did not release specific cause of death information. However, computer records from the Medical Examiner's office noted Josiah was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Dickerson is being held on a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. His bond is set at $50,000 as of 11:33 a.m. Monday.

Seagoville police requested assistance from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for the crash. DCSO has now taken over as the lead investigators of the crash.
