A large power outage left Grand Prairie residents in the dark early Monday morning.

The outage hit more than 5,600 customers near Interstate 20 and Great Southwest Parkway around 2 a.m. Monday.

Grand Prairie police increased patrols in the area during the outage.

Oncor crews were able to restore power to homes a few hours later.

A large power feeder may have been the cause of the outage.
