The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents about an FBI email scheme that promises the recipient they are eligible to receive $2.5 million.
In the email, it states the recipient must pay a $225 shipping-and-handling fee upfront in order to receive the money.
The email also gives the name of a contact person with a fake Yahoo email address.
Officials said anyone who received this email should delete it immediately.
