A second train accident in Central Texas this week has left a 72-year-old man hospitalized.
A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman told the Temple Daily Telegram that the crash Wednesday afternoon occurred when a driver did not yield right-of-way to a passing train and drove onto the tracks as the train approached its crossing.
The intersection had a yield sign and a crossing sign.
Trooper D.L. Wilson said the train struck the driver's pickup truck on the passenger side and the driver was wearing a seat belt.
The driver was in serious condition after being pulled out of the pickup truck.
