Driver Collides with DCTA A-Train

SUV pushed 150 yards; train arrives 40 minutes late

A driver suffered only minor injuries after his SUV was struck by a DCTA A-Train Thursday morning.

According to Lewisville police, the driver of a Ford Expedition stopped between the crossing arm and tracks near the 800 block of North Kealy at about 11:50 a.m.

As the driver attempted to cross the tracks, the SUV was hit by the train and pushed about 150 yards, police said.

The driver suffered only minor cuts and bruises.

A passenger on the train reported neck and back injuries.

The train arrived at the Trinity Mills Station 41 minutes late. The tracks have been cleared and all other A-Trains are moving on schedule.
