In tough economic times, frugal shoppers are looking for deals and smart business owners are giving them.  Here are a few deals we've found for this week.

Oktoberfest in Addison kicked off Thursday. German food, drink and entertainment, including traditional folk dances, will continue through the weekend at Addison Circle Park.

This month and next, Dallas' West End is offering free concerts on Friday nights.  The band Counterfeit Radio is playing tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Friday night is family movie night at the Castle Hills Village Shops Plaza in Lewisville.  Watch Disney's Earth beginning at 8 p.m.

How does shopping and chocolate sound?  Both are available at the ladies night out chocolate walk in downtown Carrollton.  Shops will stay open late and best of all they'll be handing out free chocolate.

Every Saturday has something different and interesting at the Uptown Village at Cedar Hill.  Jazz, movies and car shows will feature attractions on different Saturdays in September. A schedule is available here.

Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., the Legends of Texas Gunfight Shows take place at Stockyards Station in Fort Worth. The shows are free and attendees can learn about about the history of this part of North Texas between 1835 and the early 1900s.
