A Dallas man was shot and killed Friday night while trying to buy drugs, police say.
Witnesses told police a man, identifed as David Len McGary, was trying to by marijuana in the Texaco parking lot at 3333 South Haskell Avenue when he got into an altercation with the drug dealer.
According police, the drug dealer pulled out a gun and fatally shot McGary as he tried to run away. McGary collapsed in the middle of the street at 3415 Beall Street, where he was found by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
The shooter fled the location, police said, and is on the run. Dallas police have not provided a description of the shooter and have not named any suspects in the shooting.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
