Missing Teen Located Safe: Dallas Police

A Dallas teenager first listed as "critical missing" then classified as a runaway has been located and is safe and in good health, the Dallas Police Department said Thursday.

Dallas Police said Ripka was last seen at the Lakehill Preparatory School at 2720 Hillside Drive at 3:45 p.m on Nov. 3. Police asked for the public's help finding her after she left a suicide note at home.

Ripka's cellphone was last used to send a text message at about 2 p.m. that day, and according to police, the phone was turned off afterward.

On Nov. 6, police changed the status of a missing 16-year-old from "critical missing" to runaway.

Police said she had been seen in person by a family friend and on video at a local medical facility and that she appeared "healthy and unharmed."

Ripka suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from an early childhood trauma, according to police.
