If you have business with the city of Dallas, be aware that this holiday week is shorter than usual not only because of the Fourth of July, but because of the furlough day.

With the forced extended holiday, city offices will not reopen until Wednesday.  City facilities impacted by the furlough are city offices, libraries, parks and recreation centers, animal services offices as well as the administrative offices of the municipal courts, sanitation, police and fire departments. See a complete list here.

The furlough day is part of an effort to trim the city budget.
