Asst. Principal Resigns Following Child Porn-Related Arrest

An assistant principal at a Keller Independent School District middle school has resigned following his arrest on suspicion of transporting child pornography.

Denton resident Phillip Baker, 53, was arrested Monday, said Davilyn Walston, spokeswoman for the Eastern District of the U.S. Attorney's Office. No charges had been formally filed.

"We can confirm a resignation letter has been submitted by Fossil Hill Middle School assistant principal Philip Baker,” Keller ISD spokeswoman Shellie Johnson said in a prepared statement.

β€œSince this is a personnel matter that is part of an ongoing investigation by the United States Attorney General's Office, we are not at liberty to comment further," she said.

Johnson didn’t immediately know if Baker had worked at any other Keller ISD schools in his nine-year tenure as an assistant principal with the district.

Baker could not be reached for comment Thursday.
