Air Force Trainer Plane Crashes in San Antonio

The crash happened on the northeast side of the city just before 4 p.m.

An Air Force trainer plane from a San Antonio military base crashed near a mall on the northeast side of the city Tuesday afternoon, according KSAT-TV.

The plane landed at the Circle Dot Ranch and did not injure any animals, the San Antonio television station said.

KSAT-TV reported the two people in the plane, from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, ejected before the crash and were not injured.

A witness told KSAT-TV that she heard an explosion and saw two men eject from the plane. She said the plane did not burst into flames and appeared to "come down easy."

KSAT said the plane that crashed is a T-6 Texan Trainer, which is an aircraft for student and instructor pilots, according to Military.com.
