Aggravated Robbery in Dallas Leads to Officer-Involved Shooting

There are no injuries after police fired at a suspect who pointed a handgun at an officer

An aggravated robbery in Dallas led to an officer-involved shooting at the 1700 block of Chattanooga Place.

Dallas police responded to an aggravated robbery at the 7000 block of N. Stemmons Freeway, which ended in the officer firing at the suspect after the suspect pointed a handgun at the police officer.

When police arrived on the scene of the robbery on Sunday around at 6:50 a.m., there was no suspect to be found, police said.

Officers spotted an individual who matched the suspect description from witnesses at the 1700 block of Chattanooga Place after searching the area.

Police said that the officer confronted the suspect, and the suspect pointed a handgun at the officer. The officer then fired at the suspect, police said.

The suspect then fled on foot, and officers said there was “no evidence to indicate that the subject was struck.” The police officer wasn’t injured either, according to DPD.

As of now, the suspect is still at large. Dallas police ask anyone with information to contact the Special Investigations Unit at 214-671-3661.
