A 2.7 magnitude earthquake shook some homes in North Texas just before noon on Sunday.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the earthquake's epicenter was 13 miles southwest of Waxahachie, 6 miles south of Maypearl near the Ellis-Johnson County line.

The USGS recorded the time of the earthquake was 11:51 a.m.

In an email to NBC DFW a viewer in Venus reported feeling their home move as if someone had hit their house.
