2 Hurst Police Officers Receive ‘Lifesaving Award'

Two North Texas police officers were recognized with an award after pulling a woman from a burning home.

Hurst police officers Adam Longoria and Brandon Minchew were recently given the department's "Lifesaving Award" at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

Longoria and Minchew were called to a house fire on Hurstview Drive in October of 2015 and found the home fully engulfed in flames.

They went to the back yard and found the man who lived in the home. He told them his wife was still inside, so they quickly ran inside and saved her.

Firefighters arrived shortly after and extinguished the fire. They said the woman would not have survived if the officers hadn't intervened.
