I-35E Reopens in Lewisville After 4-Vehicle Crash

Police said an 18-wheeler caught fire after a four-vehicle crash, shutting down Interstate 35E in Lewisville for hours Friday morning. [[375007701,C]]

Lewisville police said two 18-wheelers, a pickup truck and a car were involved in the crash on northbound I-35E near Texas 121 at about 3:10 a.m.

All lanes of the interstate were reopened just after 8 a.m. 35Express officials said the left lanes of northbound and southbound I-35E would be closed near Texas 121 for guardrail repair from 10:30 a.m until about 12:30 p.m.

Officials said the road was closed for hours because of "a hazardous materials spill."

Two people were transported to hospitals in Plano and Lewisville, according to police. Their injuries were not reported, but police said they were not life threatening.
