Police have found the body of an Oklahoma City girl who disappeared from a relative's home.

Gonzalez's parents noticed she was gone when they went to check on her shortly before midnight Sunday and found that she wasn't in her bed and that her glasses had been left behind.

Her family said she has a habit of sleepwalking, but police said Sunday evening that they believe the girl was abducted from the apartment they were staying in on the 1300 block of Walnut Street.

Volunteers, family members and police began searching the area for the girl by air and ground. It wasn't until about 3:30 p.m. Sunday that her body was found outside of a home on the 1100 block of Clint Street.

"One of the search teams came across this body during their second search," Carrollton police Lt. Doug Mitchell said.

Investigators said there were no signs of a break-in and no trauma was found on the body. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Police said they believe Jasmen was targeted by someone she knows and that the community should not fear for their safety because of this attack.

"It is still safe," Mitchell said. "We think this is an anomaly. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are questionable."

Police are questioning a person of interest in the case who knows the Gonzalez family. Police also towed and searched a vehicle they said is connected to the girl's death.

Mitchell said the investigation into the girl's death and disappearance is ongoing.

"There's a lot of things that [have] to happen before this will come to a conclusion," he said Sunday. "There are interviews being conducted as we speak."

During the search, a Dallas police helicopter flew over the area while other agencies and volunteers assisted in trying to find the girl.

Police said a blanket found by Farmers Branch police that investigators originally thought could be a clue was not Jasmen's.

Police said the girl's family is cooperating with the investigation.
