$7M Pot Bust In Austin

Puff puff pass the handcuffs, please

A yearlong investigation into marijuana growing led to raids on six Austin-area houses and the seizure of $7 million worth of plants.

Investigators say two people who were arrested were facing federal drug charges Thursday.

The raids happened early Wednesday at five homes in Travis County and one in Williamson County, leading to the seizure of about 1,400 marijuana plants. Williamson County sheriff's spokesman John Foster said officers also seized about 200 pounds of loose marijuana.

Photos and video provided by law officers show rooms full of pot plants, being tended with special lighting and air flow processes.

Addresses of the houses were not immediately released.
