CareFlite was called to Centennial High School in Frisco for a sports injury Monday afternoon.

The Frisco Independent School District says a football player was injured during after-school practice but wasn't sure the extent of  the injuries.

Chopper 5 saw the medical helicopter land on the football field in the 6900 block of Coit Road, load a patient and leave.

Practice resumed shortly after CareFlite departed on its way to Parkland Hospital.

NBC 5 has crews on the way and we'll update this story with more information as soon as it's available.  As this story is developing, elements may change.
