Let's clear up any confusion by clarifying that it's John Belushi's life story that's headed to the silver screen.
This of course isn't the first time that Belushi's headed to the big screen. Michael Chiklis starred as Belushi in the 1989 adaptation of Bob Woodward's "Wired," a book a that was heavily criticized by just about everyone who had been close to the "SNL" alum. This time around Belushi's widow, Judith, is serving as an executive producer and and consultant.
"Wired" was a commercial disaster, taking in just over $1 million at the box office, earning a score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and very nearly destroyed Chiklis' career.
So who will play Belushi? Jack Black has already gone on the record as saying her's not interested.
"His life is not as funny as his work, and watching me do an imitation of him doing his 'Saturday Night Live' bits won't be as funny as watching him do his 'SNL' bits," Black said in 2008.
Zach Galifiankis, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Ethan Suplee and Tyler Labine are among those mentioned as possible stars.
In the meantime, Phillips' next film, "Due Date," starring Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr., will be here Nov. 5.
As for the Jim Belushi biopic, you're gonna have to wait a little longer.
