PopcornBiz Takes a Wife To The Movie "Hall Pass"

A pair of married men (Jason Sudakis and Owen Wilson) get the opportunity that some men only dream about. Their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) grant them a "hall pass"; one week to as a bachelor with absolutely no rules or strings attached. Problem is, this free pass proves to be more difficult than they thought.

Johnny Knoxville’s name is just the latest to be attached to the Farrelly Brothers’ long-gestating “Three Stooges” movie. Let’s hope this one sticks so they can get on with already.

The Farrelly’s are awaiting word on their offer to Knoxville for the role of the Alpha Stooge, Moe, reported Variety. This is quite a switch from the likes of Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro, who were once in line to play the trio.

“This isn’t a Farrelly version of “The Three Stooges.” This is “The Three Stooges,” the Farrellys recently explained to Collider. “And, it’s not a biopic, by the way. We’ve written three new episodes. The movie is actually three episodes that go back to back to back. Each one picks up where the other one left off. We want you to look at it and say, ‘It’s Moe, Larry and Curly!,’ so we have very high standards on this route.”

The film is planned to be composed of three 27-minute segments, with an eye toward a PG rating.

Knoxville starred in the Farrellys’ 2005 film, “The Ringer,” about a man who pretends to be mentally handicap so he can compete in the Special Olympics. It did about $35 million at the box office. Since then, however, Knoxville’s last two “Jackass” movies have combined for more than $190 million, while the Farrellys’ “Hall Pass,” has taken in $29 million since its Feb. 25 opening.
