Cowboys tight end Jason Witten isn’t about to make any lofty predictions following a 4-12 season, especially a 4-12 season that began with some seriously lofty expectations.
“When you come off 4-12, it’s tough to say anything you’re going to be,” Witten said, per the Cowboys’ official website. “It’s talk less and do more work, and that’s been approach. We’ve been off to a good start.”
For much of 2015, with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant injured, and DeMarco Murray in Philadelphia, Witten was the only star left from 2014 on the offensive side of the ball. He finished with 77 catches for 713 yards and three touchdowns, but those numbers came during a lost season.
Witten is really just looking forward to a fresh start, an opportunity to turn it all around following the ugliness of 2015, and he says his teammates share in that.
“I’m excited about that,” Witten said. “I think we’re more motivated now than we’ve ever been and that gets you anxious about going into the season.”
