As you might have heard, or deduced from the ever-present Starter cap on his head, Tony Romo is a Starter spokesman. As of April, Romo is also a new Dad.
These two facts might seem completely unrelated--and they were, at least until this week, when the athletic apparel company sent out photos of Romo and son Hawkins, Starter logos there for all to see, in a show of good, old fashioned, father-son brand-allegiance.
The photos were released just in time for Father’s Day, and where some might look upon them with cynicism, we can’t help but think that there are no real losers here. Starter gets another Romo (two for the price of one!) to help peddle their wares, Romo gets a set of real classy (black and white!) father-son photos to send the folks back home and little Hawkins gets some gratis baby swag, courtesy of his Pops’ endorsement deal.
So, no cynicism here. More than anything, we hope that Romo cherishes these moments. After all, it won’t be long before, in an act of youthful rebellion, a teenage Hawkins leaves the house in a backwards Fila cap.
