The Picks: Jaguars at Cowboys

It’s that time of week. Time to man up and make your pick for this week’s game. Get it right, and you’ll become filthy rich. You’ll be featured in TV and movies. But then you’ll become addicted to pills and booze and luxury prostitutes, thriving in your career yet building up your rep as the sleaziest human being in the world. And it’ll all culminate in you locking someone in your New York hotel room closet while you roam the halls naked at 2AM, and are then rushed to a hospital for a psych evaluation. Then CBS will keep you on “Two and a Half Men” anyway, because they don’t really care. But somewhere along the line, YOU WILL PAY. Get it wrong, and all that stuff will happen to you anyway. Here we go:

Peter King: Cowboys 27, Jaguars 13. “Good-guy Jon Kitna might not have started a game since the Bush Administration, but he'll have enough help from some good receivers to plow under the Jags.” Don’t you plow THROUGH things? How might one plow under them? Wouldn’t plowing under them leave them relatively unharmed? Peter clearly does not spend enough time working the land.

Ten of Ten ESPN Experts: Cowboys. ALL TEN OF THEM! Have you not watched this team play? Are you unaware that Tony Romo had his collar wishboned the other night? ARE YOU EVEN REMOTELY PAYING ATTENTION?!

Michael Silver: Cowboys.

70% Of Yahoo! Users: Cowboys.

Pete Prisco (CBS): Cowboys.

Andy (Cowboys fan I know): Cowboys 42, Jaguars 7 (“Watch me totally end up thinking Jon Kitna is the clear choice for our QB in 2011 when we win. We Cowboy fans are just aching to permanently turn on Romo.”)

Index Card I Threw Up In The Air With The Name Of Each Team On Either Side, Seeing Which Team Would Land Face Up: Cowboys (Index Card record: 3-3)

The Wife: Cowboys.

Me: Well, this is the easiest contrarian alert ever. Despite being horribly coached and losing their QB, people still seem to think enough of Dallas to unanimously pick them to beat Jacksonville. With David Garrard back! People, this is lunacy. Jags win. The Double J finally loses it. JAGUARS 31, COWBOYS 28.
