Scandrick Preparing For Second Surgery On Index Finger

During OTAs last summer, cornerback Orlando Scandrick suffered a fractured left index finger. He underwent surgery and returned to the team during training camp in late-July, but he never regained full strength or flexibility in the finger, and had to wear a splint underneath his glove throughout the season for added stability.

According to a source in contact with ESPN Dallas, Scandrick will undergo a second procedure a week from Tuesday in hopes of repairing the lingering effects of the injury.

Scandrick recorded 46 tackles, an interception and 2.5 sacks this season. He found a niche somewhat in 2010, as the full-time slot corner, particularly adept at corner blitzes--thus those 2.5 sacks.

It is not likely that Scandrick will miss any time with the team following next week’s surgery.
