Rex Ryan: Ware “is the Best Pass Rusher In Football”

If you own a television, there’s a good chance you’ve seen New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan a time or two over the past week. The twin brother of new Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, Rex has been making the rounds on TV and the radio this week to promote his book, Play Like You Mean It, with stops on “The Colbert Report,” “The Late Show” and, with a nod to local flavor, 1310 The Ticket.

It was in this last appearance that Ryan took time to lavish praise on the Dallas Cowboys, who will face Ryan’s Jets in week one of the 2011 season. Ryan called his brother Rob “the best defensive coordinator in football” and also had some kind words for secondary coach Dave Campo.

But when it came to talent on the playing field, Rex was quick to single out All Pro outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware. Ware is always in the conversation when it comes to the identity of the best pass rusher in football; according to Ryan, there isn’t really a conversation to be had.

You look at the talent Dallas has, starting with Ware,” Ryan said, per the Dallas Morning News. “That kid is ridiculous. He's the best pass-rusher in football.”
