Report: No Contact Between Cowboys, Ware

DeMarcus Ware could very well become a cap casualty this offseason

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been fairly candid about the tough decision presented by veteran defensive end DeMarcus Ware.

Obviously, Jones would love to keep Ware on the defensive front. But with the seven-time Pro Bowler unwilling to take a pay cut, and having struggled mightily with injuries over the past few years, the beleaguered Dallas owner admits there’s a chance that Ware could be a cap casualty.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com--a report that isn’t exactly encouraging for folks who would like to see Ware return in 2014--there has been no communication between the team and Ware’s camp.

As you may already know, Ware is coming off the least productive season of his career. He missed three games with a quad injury and finished with career-lows in tackles (40) and sacks (six). He also dealt with a herniated disk in his back and an elbow injury that required offseason surgery.
