The Washington Redskins have claimed running back Tashard Choice off waivers.
The Redskins made the move Monday, giving them a potential third tailback on the roster. The team was down to Ryan Torain and Roy Helu after Tim Hightower was lost for the season with a knee injury.
Choice was waived-injured by Dallas on Saturday. He had suffered a shoulder injury the previous week against St. Louis.
Choice was a fourth-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2008. He had 28 carries for 75 yards this season and lost two fumbles.
The make room, the Redskins released rookie cornerback Brandyn Thompson.
