On Tuesday, Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan that he was “scared” of the Eagles matchup, following his team’s 34-7 loss to Philadelphia back in October.
“I think sometimes I know I do my best when I’m scared,” Jones said.
It didn’t take long (actually just a few hours) for players to respond to the admission, and, when told of the comments, they unsurprisingly told reporters that they don’t share their owner and general manager’s fear moving into a crucial week 16 matchup with Andy Reid, Michael Vick and co.
“He said that this week? Because I know going into the last game he was saying something else,” said veteran linebacker Bradie James, per ESPN Dallas. “So really we play the game and look forward to going out there and just playing.”
Defensive end Jason Hatcher more or less attributed the remarks to Jerry being Jerry.
“That's Jerry," Hatcher said. "I understand because he's the owner, he ain't gotta strap it up. We as players, we've got a chip on our shoulders, too. We're not scared of nobody. We're looking forward to the challenge."
