Murray Ahead Of Schedule In Rehab

Rookie running back DeMarco Murray suffered a season-ending ankle injury in week 14

Well, here’s some good news for Dallas Cowboys fans.

NBC 5’s Matt Barrie spoke with Cowboys’ running back DeMarco Murray briefly on Friday, and Murray said that the rehab on his injured right ankle is ahead of schedule. Murray fractured the ankle and suffered a high ankle sprain in the team’s week 14 loss to the Giants.

The injuries ended Murray’s rookie season prematurely, but not before he established himself as the starter and stacked up 897 yards--just about 100 off of Tony Dorsett’s franchise record for rushing yards by a rookie--and two touchdowns on 164 carries.

It’s assumed that Murray will pick up where he left off, namely as the starter, once again in 2012.
