Many still believe that Jason Garrett will--or, at the very least, should be fired if the Dallas Cowboys once again miss the playoffs. But after Sunday’s come-from-behind victory over the Redskins in Washington, Jerry Jones--the man who would make that decision--didn’t sound like a man even considering making a coaching change.

Jones heaped praise on Garrett following the 24-23 win.

“He really showed me a lot, to be able to keep it together, to be able to keep it focused,”
Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Basically, trying to manage the situation down there near the end on scoring. I’m really proud for him. I thought he did an outstanding job of getting this team from the obvious, and that is having a tremendous disappointing loss against Green Bay. It was a killer, and it was something that was a real challenge for a coach to get them to come back and play well.”

Of course, Garrett has a chance to do what he’s never done--make the playoffs--if the Cowboys can beat the Eagles next week at home. If he doesn’t, that’ll make three consecutive years in which Garrett has led his team to a win-and-in division game in Week 17, only to lose it and miss the postseason.
