ARLINGTON, TX - NOVEMBER 22: Quarterback Jason Campbell #17 of the Washington Redskins drops back to pass against the Dallas Cowboys at Dallas Cowboys Stadium on November 22, 2009 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)
Over three full seasons as the Washington Redskins’ starter, Jason Campbell faced the Dallas Cowboys five times, and won just once. Of course, it’s not as though it was all Campbell’s fault--he was just a small part of a miserable span of Redskins football--but trotting onto the turf at Cowboys Stadium on Thursday night won’t conjure many fond memories for the 28-year-old.
Campbell was traded to the Raiders in exchange for a fourth round pick in April, and is set to replace the released (and since incarcerated) JaMarcus Russell in 2010. Tonight will be the first time he has faced the Cowboys since.
The Raiders and Cowboys won’t meet in the regular season. Considering his history against the team, we have a feeling Campbell is just fine with that.
