The Dallas Cowboys signed undrafted linebacker Brashton Satele, a University of Hawaii product, to a “futures” contract on Friday, making him the third such signing of the week for Dallas.
Satele, a native of Mililani, Hawaii, drew some interest from the Oakland Raiders after going undrafted in the 2010 draft, but the two sides never struck up a deal. Instead, Satele went to camp with the Jets that year, as chronicled by the HBO series “Hard Knocks.”
As was shown in that season of “Hard Knocks,” Satele impressed coaches in camp, but his efforts were hampered by a nagging ankle injury. He was among the final cuts in September of that year, but joined the team’s practice squad in December.
Around this time last year, Satele signed a “futures” deal with the Jets, but he was waived last September.
