As in every other year, the NFL Commissioner (in this case, Roger Goodell) will announce each team’s first round selection in this year’s NFL Draft. Unlike every other year, the second round selections will be announced by a former (retired) member of the respective team.
For the Dallas Cowboys, the honors will be done by former defensive end, five-time Super Bowl Champ and should-be Hall of Famer Charles Haley.
Haley is among the more noteworthy second round announcers, a list that includes former Steeler Franco Harris, former Ram Marshall Faulk, former Lion Barry Sanders and former Bronco Shannon Sharpe.
For teams that do not have a second round pick, the retired team representative will announce the third round pick. The Cowboys currently hold the eight pick in the second round, 40th overall.
