C Phil Costa Might Miss Seattle Game, Too

Costa missed the team's season opener with a back issue

The Dallas Cowboys just can’t seem to catch a break where the center position is concerned.

In training camp, Bill Nagy and Kevin Kowalski were supposed to challenge 2011 starter Phil Costa for the starting job there, but each suffered camp-ending ankle injuries--Nagy is now a Lion and Kowalski is on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and will be for awhile.

Oh, and as for starter Phil Costa--who won the job, basically, when the aforementioned two went down with injury--well, he’s injured himself now.

Costa is dealing with a back issue that kept him out of action in the team’s 24-17 victory over the Giants in the season opener and, after an MRI, it looks like Costa is in danger of missing yet another week--which of course would sideline him for the team’s week two matchup with the Seahawks in Seattle.

If Costa isn’t able to go, Ryan Cook will start again at center, and the team will most likely activate G/C David Arkin--who started at center in each of the Cowboys’ first three preseason games--for the first time since picking him up a year ago.
