DALLAS ROCK CITY IN THE PARK: This Saturday will be one hell of a way to ROCK into the fall season with a concert featuring tongue-slinging legends KISS. The afternoon delight will be a collection of party-starters including Drowning Pool, Pat Green and special guest radio hit maker Daughtry. The pyrotechnics and excitement begins at 1 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Get your KISS faces ready to rock n' roll in the sunshine.
IMITATION IS THE GREATEST FORM OF FLATTERY: Perfect for birthdays, weddings and Bar mitzvahs – no, not a DJ or caterer, but The Dan Band. Yes folks, The Dan Band. If you’ve seen “Old School” or “The Hangover” and wondered who those random wedding singers where – you know the guys who knew how to get the party started with a unique rendition of “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Wonder no more. The Dan Band specializes in comedic song parodies (and in my opinion makes ‘em sound even better). Tonight they will be taking over the House of Blues Dallas with a hilarious live performance sure to bring tears to your eyes from all the laughter. Show starts at 8 p.m.
PLANO’S FULL OF HOT AIR: Fireworks, concerts, hot air balloons – you name it and it’s happening in Plano all weekend long. Celebrating 31 years of sky-filled wonder, the Plano Balloon Festival is being held this year at Oak Point Park featuring a kaleidoscope of colors soaring in the air. Adding to the sights are exhibitors from all across DFW, which also means the likelihood of nabbing free goodies skyrockets! Doors open as early as 6 a.m. and admission varies on the time of day you decide to enter (click here for the deets), but heed caution that it also costs $250 to actually ride in one of the balloons. Yikes!
