Hundreds Pay Tribute to Slain Guitarist

Hundreds paid their last respects to a heavy metal guitarist who was shot to death last week.

A funeral cortege of more than 300 vehicles stretched for more than 2 miles leading to yesterday's graveside service in Weatherford for 24-year-old Jeremy Ryan Sisk. He was the lead guitarist for the Texas-based metal band Skard Soul.

Relatives told the Weatherford Democrat that he was killed October 21st after two men went to his brother's Weatherford apartment and demanded money. They say Sisk tried to protect his sibling during an altercation and wound up shot.

Johnny Preston Reed remains jailed in Kaufman County on $213,000 bond. He was stopped there two days after the shooting for a minor traffic violation, then ran away before being captured.

Kaufman County authorities said Reed was charged with evading arrest, drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and failure to identify as a fugitive from justice. He also is being held on a murder warrant from Weatherford.

Authorities continue searching for the other suspect, Guy Evan Graves.
