Hotel surveillance video has helped San Antonio police arrest a suspect in the slaying of a California man whose body was found when he missed a funeral.
Police on Monday night announced the arrest of 35-year-old Ivan Aguilar on a murder charge. Online jail records didn't immediately provide information on bond or an attorney for Aguilar, who's charged with killing 42-year-old Vincent Diaz of Millbrae, Calif.
Friends contacted the hotel Dec. 23 when Diaz, who was in San Antonio for a funeral, never showed up. His body was discovered in his room.
Sgt. Javier Salazar says it appears a struggle took place in the room. The victim was strangled and personal items were taken.
Security video footage from the lobby shows a man police believe is Aguilar.
