Who's On, Who's Not?: June 3

In a weekly staple, we'll discuss who's in a groove and who's in a rut for the Texas Rangers.

Who's On?

Josh Hamilton — It didn't take long for Hamilton to make his presence felt with the Rangers, and even though he hasn't started a game since Saturday, he provided the year's first great moment with Sunday's walkoff double against the Red Sox. Over his last 15 at-bats, he's hitting .400 with two doubles, two homers and five RBIs.

Leonys Martin — After going through an awful cold snap, Martin is starting to heat up again and push back a bit at Delino DeShields' attempt to be the team's primary center fielder. Martin is batting .389 over his last 18 at-bats and in just five games leads the Rangers with seven RBIs over the last week.

Shin-Soo Choo — Another hitter who had cooled, Choo is starting to pick it back up. In his last five games, he's hitting .350 with a .409 on-base percentage to go with a homer and a couple of RBIs.

Who's Off?

Prince Fielder — The big DH shows up here for the first time all season, and it's not surprising. There is no one anyone could hit wire-to-wire over an entire season like Prince has been, so for him to be hitting a bit of a slump in June is nothing alarming. Even still, he's hitting .240 over his last six games, which a month ago would've been a hot hitter for the Rangers.

Elvis Andrus — Andrus had a great night on Tuesday, both at the plate and in the field with arguably the play of the year so far for a Ranger defender with his trademarked running, jumping throw from the deep in the hole to first base to get the runner in a photo finish. With that, he's now hitting .176 over his last five games and has a couple of errors during that time.
