Every week, we'll grade the Cowboys on the three phases of the weekend's game.
Offense: B
They managed just 21 points against a pretty bad defense, but it was enough to get the win. Tony Romo threw a bad interception, but he also led a clutch, last-minute scoring drive to put the Cowboys within range for a game-winning, chip-shot field goal from Dan Bailey. For once, the Cowboys leaned on their stars. DeMarco Murray had a great game and probably should've had more touches than he did. Jason Witten caught two touchdown passes, and Dez Bryant had more than 100 yards receiving.
Defense: B-
The only thing salvaging them from an average grade of "C" was the defensive touchdown on an aggressive play that let Jeff Heath, of all people, score on a fumble return. Then Heath, along with Bruce Carter, had to commit the ultimate crime of laziness when they let Brandon Myers catch a pass, fall to the ground, get up, and score. They also let Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs shred them on the ground. But they did come up with a couple of key stops to get the victory.
Special teams: C
Nothing special here. Dan Bailey hit a 35-yard game-winning field goal. Dwayne Harris was banged up and replaced on returns by Terrance Williams.
