Report: Hardy’s Chronic Tardiness Wore on Cowboys Teammates

Greg Hardy recorded six sacks in 12 games in his first and possibly only season in Dallas

Aside from the notable exception of a dustup with a fellow defensive lineman during offseason workouts, all we were told after Greg Hardy arrived in Dallas last spring was how much his teammates liked him—and that may have been right, but according to a report, it wasn’t necessarily the case as the season wore on toward the finish.

According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, Hardy’s Cowboys teammates became less of a fan of his as he made a habit of being late to team meetings, and the team made a habit of not punishing him for his lateness.

“A few teammates who had supported Hardy early began to sour on him late in the season, in part because his perpetual tardiness for team meetings never resulted in a reduction of playing time,”  George writes. “Tardiness was also an issue for Hardy with his previous teams.”

In any case, Hardy is headed toward unrestricted free agency.

In 12 games with the Cowboys this year, Hardy recorded 35 tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble and an interception.
